In t..."Ingat!" = "Be Careful!"<br /><br />In these challenging times when America's role as the world's leading superpower is in question, what a great feeling it is to see America scores a very convincing knock-out punch! <br />Rewind back to almost 10 years ago: I was beneath the towers waiting on the #1 train (Cortlandt Station) when the first plane hit. I lived that day. The anxious moments of trying to get out of the subway, seeing the North tower's upper/mid section on fire, the disbelief of watching people jumping from the building, as I try to get away and escape the danger, made it 3 blocks and then a big explosion, I ran as fast as I could thinking the tower had collapsed, reaching Broadway and seeing the 2nd tower was also on fire!(thebig explosion was the 2nd plane). Made it to Canal Street, when I finally felt at a safe distance. One block north, watched with my co-workers and wondered what would happen to the towers, and then witnessed the collapse. One lady sat on the asphalt road and cried uncontrollably like a child. Because of the uncertainties, and the suspension of transportation services, I waited things out in Union Square. As horrific and unbelievable this day was, what I observed was how people came together from all levels of government, and society to take control of the situation. I knew then and never doubted that America will be just fine.<br />There will always be problems, but the good always triumph over evil.rick07306https://www.blogger.com/profile/05068743404871760541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37668549.post-14549199860014417612011-05-07T07:20:01.955-07:002011-05-07T07:20:01.955-07:00Ingat!Ingat!rick07306https://www.blogger.com/profile/05068743404871760541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37668549.post-15386338776967845032011-05-03T21:37:32.751-07:002011-05-03T21:37:32.751-07:00What a well written post, Melissa.
